#5. Cookies and analytics

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:

Cookies and analytics

EssentialIntegritiRemembers settings such as your light or dark mode choice
AnalyticsGoogle Analytics, through Google Tag ManagerCounts visits and shows how visitors use the site, using cookies that collect traffic data
BookingOur scheduling providerMakes the booking calendar work when you open it
AdvertisingGoogle AdsMeasures which of our ads lead to enquiries, and lets us show our ads to people who have visited our site when they use other websites and Google services (remarketing)

If you're in the European Union, the United Kingdom or Quebec, analytics and advertising cookies stay off unless you give your consent. Elsewhere, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on, and control how Google personalizes ads in Google's Ad Settings. Our site honors the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal: if your browser sends it, we don't use advertising cookies for you.

#6. How we share information

We don't sell personal information for money. When we use Google Ads remarketing, advertising cookies on our site let Google show our ads to you on other websites and services. Some US state laws treat this as "sharing" personal information for targeted advertising, and you can opt out at any time, as described in sections 5 and 10.

We share personal information only with:

  • Service providers who help us run our business, under contracts that limit how they use it: website hosting (Vercel), customer relationship management, scheduling and email (GoHighLevel), and analytics and advertising (Google). In the past 12 months we disclosed contact details, professional details, messages, booking details, and device and usage data to these providers for these business purposes.
  • Professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants, where needed.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it or to protect our rights, our clients or others.
  • A buyer or successor, if our business is reorganized, merged or sold.

#7. Where your information is processed

We and our service providers process personal information in the United States, Canada and other countries where our team members and providers operate. Wherever it's processed, we protect it as this policy describes and require our providers to do the same. Where we transfer personal information from the European Union or the United Kingdom, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. Information processed outside your country may be accessible to the courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of the countries where it's held.

#8. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy:

  • Enquiries and bookings: for as long as we're in contact about a possible or active engagement, then for up to 3 years, so we have a record of our conversations.
  • Marketing emails: until you unsubscribe, after which we keep only what we need to respect your choice.
  • Analytics data: for up to 14 months.

We keep information longer only where the law requires it or to resolve a dispute.

#9. How we protect information

We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards suited to the information we hold, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access limited to the people who need it, and service providers bound by confidentiality and security obligations. No system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the authorities of a breach where the law requires.

#10. Your rights and choices

Everyone. You can ask us at any time to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and you can unsubscribe from our emails using the link in any email.

Residents of US states with privacy laws (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas and others), subject to the conditions of your state's law, have the right to:

  • know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, and get a copy of it;
  • correct inaccurate personal information;
  • delete personal information;
  • opt out of the sharing of personal information for targeted advertising, including our use of advertising cookies for remarketing (we don't sell personal information or use profiling to make decisions about you);
  • not be treated differently for exercising these rights.

If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision; we'll respond within the time your state's law allows. You can use an authorized agent; we may ask them for proof of authority.

Residents of Canada have the right to access and correct their personal information, to withdraw consent (subject to legal or contractual limits), and to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or their provincial commissioner.

Residents of the European Union, the United Kingdom and Quebec. We process your personal information to respond to your enquiry and take the steps you ask for before any agreement, for our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving our site and business, and with your consent for analytics and advertising cookies and marketing emails. You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw your consent at any time. You can also complain to your data protection authority, or in Quebec to the Commission d'accès à l'information.
