SAP HCM and payroll integrations built for payroll accuracy
We connect SAP HCM and SAP Payroll to the vendors payroll depends on: 401(k) recordkeepers, benefits platforms, timekeeping and employment verification. Every file is aligned to your payroll calendar, checked and logged.
- Fidelity, Kronos, Alight, Equifax and Employee Central integrations
- Payroll errors from mismatches cut from 8% to under 1%

Payroll is where integration mistakes get expensive
A wrong deduction or a missed punch doesn't stay in IT. It lands in someone's paycheck. When vendor feeds and SAP drift apart, you see:
- Deductions that don't match benefit or 401(k) elections
- Overtime and shift premiums calculated wrong for hourly and union staff
- HR reconciling mismatches by hand before every payroll close
- Retroactive changes that middleware can't follow
- Audit questions nobody can answer quickly, because nobody can see what happened to a record
Point-to-point where precision matters, middleware where scale does
We don't push one pattern for everything. This is how we decide.
- Point-to-point a direct, tightly controlled feed
- Middleware a shared hub for reuse
- Hybrid both, where events need it
| What you connect | How we connect it | Why that way |
|---|---|---|
| 401(k) deductionsFidelity | Point-to-point | Contributions must match each payroll cycle exactly |
| Time captureKronos / UKG | Point-to-point | Punch pairing and wage types must be right before payroll runs |
| Benefits electionsAlight, ANSI X12 834 | Point-to-point | Elections need precise mapping to deductions |
| W-2s and verificationEquifax | Point-to-point | Periodic, secure, consent-aware transfers |
| Employee Central to ECC PayrollSAP's BIB framework | Middleware | SAP's standard replication, routed through SAP CPI or Boomi |
| Many vendors sharing one hub | Middleware | Reuse and scale matter more than per-feed control |
| Real-time cloud events | Hybrid | Event-driven middleware alongside direct feeds |
What happens to every file
OutboundSAP to vendor
- ABAP programs extract payroll and HR data from the right infotypes and payroll results.
- The data is mapped to the vendor's exact file format.
- Files are encrypted (PGP where the vendor requires it) and sent over SFTP.
- Every run is logged in SAP's application log, so any record can be traced.
InboundVendor to SAP
- A scheduled job picks up confirmation and change files.
- Structure, formats and master data are validated before anything is posted.
- Valid records update SAP through standard interfaces.
- Errors go straight to HR by email or workflow, and a confirmation goes back to the vendor.
The integrations we build
Each one has its own page with how we build it and what it changed for clients.
Employee Central to ECC Payroll
Keep SuccessFactors Employee Central and SAP ECC payroll in sync.
How it worksTimekeeping (Kronos / UKG)
Punches paired, validated and turned into wage types before payroll.
How it worksBenefits administration (Alight)
Elections and deductions kept aligned.
How it works401(k) recordkeepers (Fidelity)
Contributions and confirmations exchanged every payroll cycle.
How it worksEmployment verification and W-2s (Equifax)
Secure, consent-aware delivery of pay and employment data.
How it worksHR master data and legacy systems
SAP synced with older HR systems, spreadsheets and in-house portals.

Payroll data handled like payroll data
- SFTP with key exchange, and PGP encryption where required
- Restricted access to logs and file-handling transactions
- Every file read and write logged
- No direct database connections to outside systems

SAP HCM integration FAQ
What is an SAP point-to-point integration?
A direct connection between SAP and a third-party system, built in ABAP, without a generic middleware layer in between. It gives precise control over payroll timing, mapping and error handling.
Should we use middleware instead?
Sometimes. Middleware suits many vendors sharing one hub. For payroll-critical feeds where timing and retroactive changes matter, point-to-point is usually more accurate. We recommend per integration.
Do you work with SuccessFactors Employee Central?
Yes. We integrate Employee Central with SAP ECC Payroll using SAP's BIB framework and the Compound Employee API.
How do you handle retroactive changes?
Our integrations follow your payroll calendar and SAP's retroactive accounting, so back-dated changes flow through correctly.
What about S/4HANA?
We assess what a move means for your HR, payroll and integrations.
